since august 2014
Keeping with the commitment of The Long Run’s 4Cs, Kicheche Camps collaborates with the local community via the Kicheche Community Trust to support traditional and sustainable ways of living that are in harmony with wildlife and the environment. All guest donations and bed-night contributions to the Trust are channelled into projects impacting its conservancy communities.
Kicheche Mara North is located in a prime wildlife area along the Olare Orok stream, is completely unfenced, and consists of nine standard tents and one family suite. Spread across 71,000 acres of wilderness, Mara North Conservancy is one of the largest community and privately owned conservancies globally. One bed per 350 acres of wilderness is a guarantee of low-density tourism. Kicheche is committed to bettering the lives of the community in the long run through better access to quality education for all children, providing quality healthcare to the community, and empowering women and youths through skills training programs, self-help groups, and revenue-earning projects.
