Partnering with the Samburu community, Sasaab offers high-end adventure safaris which contribute to the biodiversity and conservation of the Westgate Community Conservancy. As well as supporting local conservation initiatives, healthcare and education projects improve local livelihoods, while traditional culture is celebrated at an information hub. Sasaab is a certified Global Ecosphere Retreat®.
Situated in Westgate Community Conservancy, bordering the Samburu National Reserve, Sasaab offers a unique safari experience combining luxury adventure with a commitment to conservation and community empowerment. Spanning 400 km² and home to over 600 Samburu families, the conservancy supports a traditional pastoral lifestyle and is a habitat for endemic wildlife. Employing over 70% of the team from the community and immersing guests in local culture, Sasaab fosters an appreciation for the wildlife and crucially reduces human-wildlife conflict. Guest fees contribute to wildlife management and sustainable community development through healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
