Breakaway was set up in 2011, as an outcome of its Founder Shilpa’s love for travel and everything curated. They are focused on offering bespoke and immersive craft and textile, culinary and social enterprise interactions, pan India - experiences that result from personal networks and professional relationships in these sectors. Led by respected names in their domains these experiences are authentic and unique and open doors that most in the travel fraternity don’t have access to.
Breakaway itineraries are built with sensitivity and empathy towards craft, cuisine, culture and communities that depend on it, across geographies in India. A firm belief that people who take these trips leave with some new inspiration, one which is grounded in reality, in the context of the people they visit. Breakaway does not encourage ‘unnatural animal encounters’ and are focused on including only credible animal sanctuaries and supporting initiatives committed to wildlife conservation efforts like Wild life SOS in Agra & Srinagar, Help in Suffering in Jaipur, which prioritse ethical and responsible interactions with animals, ensuring the welfare of the animals at all times.

Breakaway builds their itineraries with sensitivity and empathy towards craft, cuisine, culture and communities that depend on it, across geographies in India.
Their signature sustainability experience is called Give Change A Chance. The tour offers a chance to travellers to move from being shareholders to stakeholders. It gives them a chance to do and discover something truly unique – a chance to change and meet people who are transforming vocations in deeply impactful and sustainable ways.
